Biography: Son of former Bedford Town, Rushden Town and Aylesbury United manager Trevor Gould and nephew of Bobby Gould. Rob was born in Northampton and as a youngster was a familiar face on the terraces at Aylesbury while his father was manager there.
Centre half Rob began his career locally with Cogenhoe United, Rothwell Town and Raunds Town and also played for Racing Club Warwick before signing for Ilkeston Town in 2000.
Despite playing in defence Rob was top scorer for Ilkeston in 2000/01 and at the end of that season he signed for Tamworth. As his travels continued he added St Albans City, Bishops Strortford, Grantham Town - for whom he scored 3 goals in 36 appearances and played against Leyton Orient in the F.A Cup in 2003/04 - and Brackley Town to his list of clubs before beginning a two season spell with Kettering Town.
In 2004/05 Rob was loaned out to Stamford and Grantham (5 games), and at the start of 2005/06 he had a 10-game loan spell with Rugby before joining his boyhood favourites Aylesbury United in October, 2005. He scored twice on his debut for the Ducks and in all found the net seven times in 34 games in 2005/06. Next stop was Hemel Hempstead Town, for whom he scored 4 times in 40 games in 2006/07.
Rob joined Wellingborough Town as a player in the summer of 2007 and took his first steps into coaching when he joined the Doughboys backroom staff in the second half of 2007/08. In May, 2008 he was appointed manager of Northampton Spencer but after just one season at Kingsthorpe Mill he returned to Wellingborough as manager.
Rob enjoyed some successful times at Wellingborough but after a poor start to the 2012/13 season he resigned in September, 2012.
Following a brief spell on the coaching staff here at Steel Park he joined Stamford as assistant to manager David Staff and more recently Rob has been coaching at Cogenhoe United. He was appointed Corby Town assistant manager in May, 2017.
