As a teenager Jason had spells with Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Rushden & Diamonds before joining Kettering Town as a 17-year-old striker in August, 2000. Following his first spell with the Poppies he played in the United Counties League for Cogenhoe United, Long Buckby and Raunds Town.
In 2010 he signed for his local club, Daventry Town, and then, in the summer of 2012, he moved on to Banbury United. This proved to be not such a good move, however, and in September 2012 Jason joined Kings Lynn. He scored twice in 94 appearances for the Linnets before having a second spell with Kettering Town.
During the summer of 2015 he opted to return to Daventry in preference to signing for Rugby Town and captained Daventry in 2015/16. In March, 2016 Jason signed for AFC Rushden & Diamonds but in July, 2016 he did finally put pen to paper for Rugby Town. He made half a dozen appearances in central defence early in 2016/17 before returning to Rushden & Diamonds.
Jason played 20 times for Diamonds in 2016/17 - the last of them in their Integra Cup win over Corby Town - and he joined the Steelmen in December, 2016.
Now aged 33, he was a regular member of the team for the remainder of the season and, of course, hit the national headlines when he was spotted taking a crafty swig of cider during a goal celebration!
