Rushden & Diamonds, Luton Town, Leicester City (loan), Norwich City, Coventry City, Notts County, Kings Lynn, Stamford, Spalding United.
David was appointed manager of Corby Town in May, 2017 - having previously been assistant manager under Gary Mills.
He was born in Wellingborough and began his career with Rushden & Diamonds - being part of the squad which rose from non-league to League Two in the noughties. He made his first team debut as a teenager and went on to score 10 goals in 140 appearances.
During the 2005/06 season David moved on to Championship side Luton Town and the following season he made the step up from squad player to first team regular. He found the net 8 times in 88 games for the Hatters and in March, 2008 he joined Leicester City on loan with a view to the deal being made permanent. He made 6 appearances for Leicester but following their relegation from the Championship the permanent transfer didn't materialise.
In July, 2008 Norwich City paid out a fee of £750,000 to capture his signature on a three-year deal but he played just 20 times for the Canaries before moving to Coventry City for £500,000 in January, 2009.
During a successful three-and-a-half year stay with Coventry he scored 6 goals in 98 appearances - including a strike from near the half way line against Doncaster Rovers which was voted the club's 2008/09 Goal of the Season.
In July, 2013 David moved on to Notts County and played 13 games for them before leaving Meadow Lane in January, 2014. He then signed for Kings Lynn and moved on to Stamford during the summer of 2015. In September, 2015 he joined Spalding and began 2016/17 back at Stamford. On October 19th 2016 he was announced as the new assistant manager of Corby Town and quickly established himself as a regular member of the starting XI in midfield.
On the international front David made 2 appearances for the Republic of Ireland at Under-21 level in 2004/05 and also appeared in one 'B' international in 2007.
