Corby Town launched their new smart phone app on Friday, and in doing so became the first club in non-league football to have their own independent app on the Apple and Android platforms.
Fans have responded in their droves and downloaded the new app and as a club we just wanted to say thank you.
The app was released to the market at mid-day on Friday and by midnight on Saturday the number of downloads was into three figures.
Director of Media and Communications Chris Rivett told www.corbytownfc.co.uk: "We're very pleased with the immediate response we have had from supporters. To have over 100 downloads in the first 36 hours is fantastic, especially when you consider it's availability was only promoted via the club website.
"The Board were very keen to ensure the app was available for free so that everyone who has a iPhone or Android handset could access it."
The app has already received some reviews from fans on Apple's iTunes store. Any more positive reviews will be welcomed so please log on to iTunes and let us know what you think.
The club have also received enquiries from supporters asking about the availability of the app on other platforms.
Rivett added: "We are grateful for all the feedback and certainly apps for the BlackBerry and Windows Mobile platforms is something we're looking into but we can't, unfortunately, provide a timescale for when they may happen.
"At the moment Android's market share is roughly 50% and Apple's approximately 25% based on figures announced in March. BlackBerry's come in at around 15% so naturally that will be the next one for us to look at, followed by Windows. We want to get the app into the hands of as many people as possible.
"We will keep supporters posted with developments in this area, as they happen."
