Corby Town recorded another emphatic victory at Steel Park, as they netted four against Blyth Spartans.
A Matt Rhead penalty and another goal for Paul Malone gave the Steelmen a 2-0 half time lead. Leon Hibbert and substitute Jordan Smith doubled that tally in the second period to ensure Graham Drury's men rise to 5th in the Blue Square Bet North table.
It was the visitors who started the game on the front foot, although they could not find the breakthrough despite Chris Emms, Graeme Armstrong and Phil Cave all forcing good saves from Chris Mackenzie.
The Steelmen were looking second best, until they managed to grab a quick double before the break.
Just three minutes before half-time Matt Rhead converted a penalty to give the Steelmen the advantage, his fourth of the campaign.
Defender Paul Malone then doubled their lead, powering his header into the top corner following a pin-point corner from the impressive Andy Burgess.
The goals had taken the stuffing out of Blyth and it was Graham Drury's men who began to push for another goal in the second half, with only Blyth's Knight denying the Steelmen another goal with some brilliant saves from Leon Hibbert and Nick Rogan.
The hosts did grab a third on 79 minutes, as substitute Jordan Smith fired home to secure the points for Corby.
Corby's scoring exploits were not finished however, as Leon Hibbert netted his first goal for the club since re-joining from Gainsborough Trinity in the summer on 85 minutes, with a fierce drive from inside the box, the Steelmen's 15th goal at Steel Park in just five Blue Square Bet North matches this season.
