Corby Town striker Steve Diggin has agreed a deal to remain with the Steelmen for at least another season.
The Northampton-born striker signed for Corby Town in June 2007, from Cogenhoe United, where he was a prolific goalscorer.
To date he has an impressive strike rate for the Steelmen and was our top scorer on two occassions with thirty goals in his debut campaign. This form earned him both the Supporters' Player of the Year and Players' Player of the Year awards.
Manager Graham Drury admitted that he was extremely pleased to agree the new deal with Diggin, and told www.corbytownfc.co.uk: "I've always rated Diggs as a player and I'm delighted he's agreed his fourth deal since he came here to remain at the club.
"There has been a fair bit of interest in Steve but he wants to play for Corby Town and he's not the first player we've spoken to recently who has highlighted how much they want to be involved with what we're trying to achieve here.
"He gets into the right areas to score goals and I know he was disappointed with his return last season, it's something he wants to put right and he's still young enough to really make his mark.
"He is determined to nail down his shirt next season and it's great to have a proven goalscorer signed up for the new campaign. With the players we've signed recently to play in midfield he's going to benefit and I expect him to do very well."
Corby Town have received a positive response from applicants to the role of first-team manager.
