Corby Town manager Graham Drury has talked of his delight at having striker Nick Rogan in his squad for the upcoming campaign.
The former Morecambe striker scored the first ever goal at the club's new Steel Park stadium during the 2-0 win over Notts County last week, before netting in the 7-2 rout of Stamford on Saturday and putting in another impressive display alongside Matt Rhead in last night's 1-1 draw with Stevenage.
Drury told www.corbytownfc.co.uk; "He's shown tremendous commitment to come down from the North West and earn himself the chance and we're all pleased we've been able to sort it out. He really wants to be here and it's great to see another player make such a huge personal commitment to want to be part of what we're trying to do here.
"All four of the strikers we've got on the books bring something different and Nick is a really clever player, I think the fans have only seen a bit of what he's about. He gets things going as well as scoring goals and his work rate is superb. He's already hit it off with Matt Rhead; from the moment I saw them together in the first training session I was excited.
"I'm chuffed to bits to have him here, he adds a bit more to what I feel is going to be a good squad of players to work with. They are all here to win football games and we can't wait for the first game at Halifax but for now, we're going to enjoy the test that Luton will pose and we'll know by the end of the weekend where we're at and how well pre-season has gone for us."
Rogan started his career at Morecambe in 2002 and has gone on to represent Southport, Barrow and Fleetwood Town. He is a proven goal scorer in the Blue Square Bet North and Drury was quick to praise the board for allowing him to bring a player of his calibre into the club.
"I have to applaud the board for backing me with this signing. It's important the fans understand the level of support I've had to bring Nick to the club and I think we can all be delighted with his capture because he is a top player."
