Graham Drury has described Corby’s victory over Vauxhall Motors on Saturday as the club’s “biggest three points of the season so far.”
In an incredibly close-fought contest, the Steelmen edged the Motormen by a solitary goal, scored by Captain Phil Gulliver in the 9th minute.
Drury was visibly delighted with the victory, which keeps Corby fifth in the Blue Square Bet North table.
He told www.corbytownfc.co.uk: “That was a tough game, a very tough game. Both mentally and physically – all the lads were very tired after two tough games against Kidderminster, but they really put in a performance today.

The Steelmen have now played an energy-sapping three games in eleven days and Drury believes that played a massive part in the match.
“All credit to Vauxhall, they kept putting the ball down our throat and we had to keep defending. Our ball retention wasn’t as good as what it has been but a lot of that’s down to tired legs.
“No excuses though, we could have had a few more goals today as always, Gullers in particular could have doubled his tally for the afternoon, but overall I’m really proud of them because that was a real hard game. We put in a really professional shift here and deserved the win.”
Corby Town have received a positive response from applicants to the role of first-team manager.
