Corby manager Graham Drury has called on his team to learn from the 4-0 defeat to Hyde and bounce back against Gainsborough Trinity on Tuesday.
Drury told www.corbytownfc.co.uk: “We need to respond to a result like that. We were well-beaten by a very strong Hyde side today but we need to learn our lessons and move on.
“I think they were the better side on the day, but still believe we’re very evenly matched as teams. Scott Spencer proved the difference, his finishing was unbelievable and he scored four really good goals.”
Drury was also adamant that the Steelmen needed to keep their feet on the ground after winning their first two games so empathically and he feels that the defeat may be a blessing in disguise.
“It’s a wake-up call for everyone involved with the club. Not just the team, but the supporters as well. Yes we had two great results in our first two games, but like I said, this is a tough league and you can’t expect to win every match.
“But we move on from this result, take what we can and go into the Gainsborough game looking to get back on track.”
