On Friday evening, having offered new contracts to two of last season's squad, Manager Graham Drury declared to www.corbytownfc.co.uk that he was happy with what has been a good week's work.
The boss of the Steelmen confirmed he has offered deals to Steve Diggin and Glenn Walker on a day when his first summer signings, Steve Towers, Leon Hibbert, Karl Dimidh and Jordan Smith were announced.
"It's been nice to see some of our recent hard work begin to pay off," Drury commented when reflecting on a busy week. "I'm pleased with what we've been able to do this week. There is still more to come and I hope to be able to confirm more new signings over the weekend and into next week. We have lots of meetings set up with players and having been able to secure the services of Paul Holden and Andy Burgess a week a go, it's nice that seven days later we've been able to tie up our first set of players.
"We are determined to make progress next season and produce a good footballing side to grace the new stadium. I'm keen to snap up the core of the squad as quickly as we can, I'm not one for hanging about, and I hope we'll hear back next week with some more positive news in relation to Glenn and Steve.
"Persuading the likes of Burge and Hibbert to return and for Towers to commit to a new deal here shows how ambitious we are and that will help attract other players to the club. We've got a fantastic stadium to look forward to playing in next season and the players who have signed so far are as excited as me about getting out there and doing well for Corby Town."
Although the Early Bird discount period ended on 31st May there is still plenty of time to get your hands on a season ticket for next year. An Adult season ticket is £210 and a family of four can enjoy 2011/12 at the new stadium for just £380 - just over £17 a game for two adults and two children under-16. What's more you'll get a £215 voucher for a family portrait with Venture Photography completely free.
