Corby Town midfielder Jordan Spruce and striker Gregg Smith have both committed their futures to the club by signing new deals.
Both players made the step up to the Blue Square North, from Newport Pagnell and Shepshed Dynamo respectively, at the end of last season and impressed manager Graham Drury enough to earn themselves a chance for the upcoming campaign.
Spruce is a strong left midfielder with great technique and bags of skill. He was attracting interest from other clubs before deciding to remain a Steelman.
Speaking to corbytownfc.co.uk, Drury said: "Jordan always wanted to stay and I know there was interest from elsewhere but we're pleased we've been able to extend his stay with us. He offers us a lot of options because he is capable of playing in all three areas.
"He is good defensively and provides an option at left back, he has the pace to be dangerous on the left wing and strong enough to do a job up front as well. He is only 19 and we know he has goals in his locker, he is still a raw talent but with the right coaching and desire, we hope he will fulfil his potential."
Smith is a physical striker, who scored on his Corby Town debut away at Workington. Drury firmly believes that he can make an impact at the club next season and is confident that Smith is giving himself the best chance;
"Gregg struggled a bit with the step up last year, but with a full pre-season in him we're looking forward to seeing what he has to offer us.
"He is doing a lot of work on his fitness off his own back in the summer and we're going to be working with him. We have discussed the need for him to keep the ball better and bring his team-mates into the game:
"I've known Gregg for sometime and coached in the lower leagues. He has gained plenty of experience from his time at Daventry, Rugby and Shepshed and if he can use that, with a higher fitness level and better ball retention, he'll have a lot to offer us."
