FOOTBALLCV ACADEMY TO MOVE TO STEEL PARK IN THE SUMMER
28th November 2011
FootballCV Academy today announced it will be moving its operation to Steel Park in Corby in the summer of 2012.
Although only a short move across Northamptonshire the new Steel Park facility provides the Academy players with a state-of-the-art sports venue with the players accommodated at Best Western Rockingham Forest Hotel.
The Academy has recently been involved with several success stories: Emmanuel Oyeleke has signed a two-year pro contract with Brentford; Liam Newman and Tom De La Mare have been offered deals with Belgian club Royal Racing in Liege; goalkeeper Jamie McAlindon has been on trial at Leicester City; Sam Conway made his debut for Czech Second Division side FK Banik Most this month; Calaum Martin was called up to the Antigua and Barbuda national side for their recent World Cup qualifier against Haiti and three FootballCV Academy players were given the opportunity to train with Manchester United and England star Wayne Rooney earlier this season through Academy sponsors' EA Sports.
FootballCV Managing Director Graham Starmer commented: "These are exciting times for all of us involved at FootballCV but especially for the players. We have thoroughly enjoyed our time at Nene Park and the facilities have been superb but we have been presented with an opportunity to develop the Academy further and will make the move over in the summer of 2012.
“We are seeing our experience and contacts in the game that we have developed over an 11-year period really help our players progress in the game. We hope and expect there will be many more to come when we move to Steel Park.”
The FootballCV Academy has announced the first open day dates for the 2012/2013 season which will commence on 29th January 2012. All interested students will receive a tour of the Academy and an assessment by the coaching staff, led by Head Coach Danny Nicholls.
Corby Town have received a positive response from applicants to the role of first-team manager.
