Corby Town went down for the second time in four days, as Gainsborough Trinity defeated Graham Drury's side by a single goal at Northolme.
The Steelmen boss made two changes from the starting XI that lost 4-0 to Hyde at Steel Park, replacing James Ozmen and Andy Burgess with Leon Hibbert and Nick Rogan.
It was the host's who started brightly, with Jonathan D'Laryea forcing Chris Mackenzie to pull off an early save.
Trinity took the lead after just 7 minutes, when Andrew Boyce headed home a pinpoint cross from Dominic Roma.
It was almost 2-0 before the break, with Gainsborough's Michael Leary watching his header come back off the post following a corner from Ryan Williams.
Chances were limited for the visitors in the first period, with Jordan Smith, Leon Hibbert and Steve Towers with the best chances.
Despite a slight improvement after the break, and chances for Rhead and Steve Towers, Corby could not find an equaliser as Gainsborough held on to earn all three points.
