Corby Town can confirm that they will officially reveal the new 2011/12 home kit at the Corby Highland Gathering on Sunday.
The new Joma playing strip, sponsored by Tata Steel, will be unveiled to the public of Corby at 1pm in the main parade ring, prior to the All England Pipe Band competition. Skipper Phil Gulliver, defender Paul Malone and striker Paul Caswell will be on hand to model the new training kit and playing strip before they go on sale to supporters.
The Steelmen have a stall at the event, which is expected to be attended by 8,000 visitors, and will be selling the new merchandise - including polo shirts, fleeces and hoodies - from 10am, with the playing kit going on sale at 1pm. Supporters will be able to pre-purchase the kit in the morning and then collect it after it has been unveiled if they wish to beat the rush for what is expected to be one of the most popular first-team shirts in the club's history.
The new home shirt will cost £34.99 for adults and £28.99 for junior sizes and anyone purchasing a replica shirt will also receive a free copy of the book by club historian David Tilley that was released to celebrate the club's 60th anniversary in 2008.
Player-Coach Andy Burgess was one of the first to see the new strip and he was impressed by what he saw: "The new kit looks really smart, the lads can't wait to pull it on and run out at the new stadium.
"We got our training kit for the first time last week and it's really great. I'm a local lad and to me it looks like a classic Corby kit, I think it's going to be really popular with supporters."
Supporters who aren't able to attend the Gathering will still be able to purchase the kit in plenty of time for the start of the season. The club will be launching their merchandise brochure next week and fans who want to be amongst the first to get their hands on the new strip will be able to purchase goods online or at the first pre-season matches at the new stadium.
Corby Town have received a positive response from applicants to the role of first-team manager.
