Former Corby Town fans' favourite Leon Hibbert has returned to the club from Gainsborough Trinity.
Leon is a goal scoring, central midfield player who has strength and pace. He spent two seasons at the centre of the Corby Town engine room, and also spent a six match spell on loan at Slough Town where he netted three goals in six games. Following a poor season for the Lincolnshire club, who narrowly avoided relegation from the Blue Square Bet North, Leon has returned to Corby Town for the 2011/12 campaign.
Manager Graham Drury is thrilled to have secured Hibbert's signature, and re-unite him with midfield partner Steve Towers, who extended his deal yesterday.
“It's a massive signing for us to get Leon back," he commented. "I understand the reasons why he left and whilst it hasn't worked out for him, I couldn't be more delighted to have him back.
"I've been chasing him for sometime and he was keen to come back to the club so it is great that we have been able to tie things up early in the close-season.”
Corby Town have received a positive response from applicants to the role of first-team manager.
