Corby Town have signed highly rated striker Mark Jones from Deeping Rangers and he goes straight into the Steelmen's side for the return fixture against Solihull Moors on New Year's Day.
The 22-year-old front man, who can also play as an attacking right sided midfielder, has netted 25 times already this season for the UCL outfit and has recently had a trial with League 2 side Crewe Alexandra.
With a number of clubs monitoring his situation it has been widely anticipated he would leave Deeping to move to a club higher up the football pyramid and manager Graham Drury is delighted to have pipped a handful of clubs to his signature.
He told www.corbytownfc.co.uk: "He is 6' 3" and very quick with it and he is averaging a goal a game for Deeping this year so we're understandably delighted to bring him to Steel Park.
"There has been plenty of interest in him and we are pleased he has liked what we have had to show him and chosen to come to Corby.
"He is another young lad with potential and if we can work with him and give him the time he needs to settle in, he is going to be a very good player.
"Like Sam Mullarkey and Lee Beeson before him, he will need time to find his feet but he has shown up well in training and I think it's another signing the fans should be excited about."
Corby Town have received a positive response from applicants to the role of first-team manager.
