Midfielder Sam Ives has left Corby Town by mutual consent after being unable to hold down a regular first team place.
The former Cambridge United trainee joined the Steelmen in the summer and scored the second ever goal at Steel Park in the opening match against Notts County but hasn't been able to make a regular contribution from the middle of the park to satisfy his personal ambitions.
Manager Graham Drury explained to www.corbytownfc.co.uk: "Sam understandably wants to go out and play regular football and having made the start we have made to the the season in the opening four months it has been difficult for him to break into a winning team.
"He feels he'll stand a better chance of clubs taking an interest in him if he is a free agent, rather than someone who is looking for a temporary loan move and we have agreed to support him with that. Unfortunately he has just not been able to get as many minutes on the pitch as he would have liked.
"I'd like to thank him for his contribution to our season and we all wish him all the best for the future."
Corby can also confirm that defender Tom Land has joined Evo-Stick Premier Division side Mickleover Sports on a short term loan and is set to make his debut on Wednesday night against Chasetown.
Corby Town have received a positive response from applicants to the role of first-team manager.
