A last minute goal from Steve Diggin gave Corby Town a 1-0 victory over Droylsden in an entertaining game at the Rockingham Triangle on Wednesday night.
The match winning goal came with the final kick of normal time and was the perfect present for Manager Graham Drury who was celebrating his 40th birthday.
In an end to end match, Droylsden, who had won 5-1 at the weekend against the Steelmen's next opponents, Stafford, were thwarted by the woodwork when they did beat the home side's rearguard.
At the other end, Droylsden goalkeeper Sean Lake proved something of an obstacle, much to the frustrations of home fans and players alike. The goalkeeper pulled off a string of fine saves throughout the game, including an amazing quadruple save from point blank range, but it was an error late on that gifted Diggin the opportunity to round the goalkeeper and slot home for a last gasp winner.
Corby Town have received a positive response from applicants to the role of first-team manager.
