Corby Town have been dealt a huge blow, with the news that summer signing Aynsley McDonald will miss the next two months with a foot injury.
McDonald was stretchered off and taken to hospital during Saturday's FA Cup with Budweiser victory over Hednesford Town with a suspected broken ankle, however scans have shown that there is no break and he faces between 6-8 weeks on the sidelines.
The former Welsh Under 17 international defender joined the Steelmen from Rushden & Diamonds in the summer, and had only recently returned to first team action following a hamstring injury.
Graham Drury told corbytownfc.co.uk "Aynsley has been put in plaster as a precaution, as the bone is weaker despite not breaking.
"He also sustained some serious ligament damage, and will require further treatment on that, so we expect that he will be out for up to 8 weeks.
Corby Town have received a positive response from applicants to the role of first-team manager.
