New signing Sam Mullarky was pleased with his competitive debut for Corby Town, as he netted against Droylsden in the 5-2 win at Steel Park.
Mullarky told www.corbytownfc.co.uk "I feel really happy with how the match went. I was nervous to start with, as I didn't know that I would be starting until about an hour before kick-off. The whole team worked extremely hard and I think I had a good game and obviously scored a goal so I enjoyed it."
"As a striker I love playing up top with a big man and they don’t come much better than Rheady. Every time a ball goes up you just know he’s going to win the header and that allowed me to play on the last man and get myself in. He's a great player."
Mullarky joined the Steelmen from Stamford in October, however his debut was delayed due to a suspension from his time at the Daniels.
The former Lincoln City striker said, "I joined Corby for a few reasons. I heard about the stadium at Steel Park and I wanted to play at the highest level possible. My first impressions of the club is really good, the set-up here is fantastic."
"I've only had a few training sessions with the lads and the Rangers game last week, but there are some brilliant players at the club and hopefully we can perform again on Saturday and get a similar result against another good side."
Corby Town have received a positive response from applicants to the role of first-team manager.
