Corby Town return to Blue Square Bet North action tomorrow evening, as they welcome Manchester-based Droylsden to Steel Park.
Despite admitting to lingering feelings of disappointment, Graham Drury has urged his players to forget about their FA Cup heartbreak in Bristol last week and bounce back with three points against the Bloods.
The Steelmen have won their last three Blue Square Bet North fixtures on the bounce, keeping them at a respectable 5th in the table.
Their last encounter in the league was a low-scoring affair against Vauxhall Motors, with Captain Phil Gulliver grabbing the only goal of the game in the first ten minutes.
Droylsden travel to Steel Park with a similar record to the Steelmen, finding themselves undefeated in three matches. The Bloods left it late against Vauxhall Motors last Saturday, but a 90th minute Danny Rowe equaliser was enough to see them prolong that run.
Phil Gulliver and his defence will have to be wary of striker Rowe, as he enters tomorrow’s match in a rich vein of form, having netted four times in his last three matches.
In the corresponding fixture last season, a last minute goal from striker Steve Diggin saw the Steelmen take all three points. The match at the Butcher's Arms Ground was also a closely-fought contest, with both sides sharing the spoils in a 1-1 draw.
Currently sitting three places below Corby in the table, the league suggests another close encounter, but Droylsden’s away record implies other wise. The Bloods have won just two matches on their travels this season, the last coming against Solihull Motors at the beginning of October.
Should the Steelmen emerge victorious against the Bloods by more then two goals, they will jump to forth in the table ahead of Guiseley, who next play on Saturday.
Midfielder Steve Towers is expected to make a return to the side after missing the defeat by Bristol Rovers through suspension. Otherwise the Steelmen are set to remain unchanged, with no major injury concerns picked up at the Memorial Stadium.
Corby Town have received a positive response from applicants to the role of first-team manager.
