Corby Town will be keen to return to winning ways this weekend as they host fellow play-off hopefuls Gainsborough Trinity at Steel Park on Saturday afternoon in the Blue Square Bet North.
Trinity, who count former Corby striker Leon Mettam amongst their ranks, have already beaten Graham Drury’s side once this season, back in August when an Andrew Boyce goal was enough to seal all three points at the Northolme.
Corby Town have suffered a slight blip in form recently, a run which has also seen them knocked out of the FA Cup and FA Trophy at the hands of Bristol Rovers and North Ferriby United respectively.
Yet, with only a single defeat in the Blue Square Bet North since 8thOctober, the Steel Park club still remain just a point behind Gainsborough with a game in hand over the Lincolnshire club, and the right results could see the Steelmen end the weekend in third.
Gainsborough also head into the match in poor form, following a winless November in the league. Since beating Eastwood convincingly in October, Trinity have drawn 1-1 with Bishops Stortford before losing three games on the bounce against Colwyn Bay (2-1), Gloucester City (4-1) and Boston United (3-1).
Chris Mackenzie, Matt Rhead and James Ozmen are all expected to return to the starting line-up for the Steelmen.
Corby Town have received a positive response from applicants to the role of first-team manager.
