Corby are set to head 130 miles north tomorrow, as they travel to Manchester to take on Droylsden in the Blue Square Bet North.
The Steelmen enter the contest having won only one match in eight in all competitions and will be desperate to return to Steel Park with three points.
But Drury’s outfit were unlucky not to win against Boston on Tuesday evening, with former Steelman Tyrone Kirk grabbing a controversial equaliser in the dying seconds of the match.
Despite the poor manner of Corby’s current form, manager Drury has said he is pleased with his side’s performance so far this season and has declared his outfit a work in progress.
Unlike their Corby counterparts, the Bloods enter the contest in a rich vein of form having won three of their last four matches. They overcame Conference side Mansfield Town in the FA Trophy last Monday, convincingly beating the Stags 2-1 thanks to a brace from striker Dale Johnson.
Currently managed by Dave Pace, the Bloods sit four points behind Corby in the BSN, positioned at 10th in the table. Graham Drury has somewhat of a formidable record over the Droylsden gaffer, having not lost to Pace in their five encounters.
Drury will be keen to repeat Corby’s last scoreline against the Bloods, a 5-2 victory at Steel Park in November. The result was the Steelmen’s last win in any competition, Drury finding his side in inconsistent form ever since.
If Corby are to emerge victorious they will have to be wary of striker Danny Rowe, who was named Blue Square’s Bet North player of the month for November and is Droylsden’s current top scorer.
Matt Rhead is struggling with an ankle injury and is said to be a doubt for the game tomorrow. Jean Paul Marna is expected to retain his starting place, following his first goal for Corby on Tuesday.
Corby Town have received a positive response from applicants to the role of first-team manager.
