Today's working party at the new stadium was a huge success, and Corby Town Football Club would like to thank all of the supporters who attended.
Volunteers gave up their free time on Saturday to prepare the new stadium and give the bar a minor facelift ahead of the pre-season.
Jobs completed included moving the sponsorship boards from the old stadium, weeding the patio area, moving the programme sellers kiosk into the new stadium, cleaning the seats in the new stand, as well as painting the toilets and corridor in the Steelmen Social Club.
Steelmen supporter Robbie Dunion said; "Thank you to all of the volunteers who worked so hard today. There was a fantastic turn out and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. We were fortunate with the weather and managed to get a lot done.
"Clubs like ours rely on the hard work of supporters so it was good to see so many of us there.
"By all pulling together today we have not only managed to help with the preperations leading up to the new campaign, but we have also saved Corby Town hundreds of pounds in maintenance and labour costs.
"There is still plenty to keep ourselves occupied as pre-season nears, but we made good inroads today."
There will be another working party at the stadium next Saturday (11 June 2011) from 10am, if you have a few hours to spare please come along and volunteer. There is skilled and non-skilled work available and you will be playing a part in preparing Corby Town for the coming season. Please note that fans do not need to commit to the whole day, just whatever time you are able to provide.
