Glenn Walker has returned to further strengthen Graham Drury's squad and youngsters Sam Ives and Courtney Herbert, who both finished last season with Cambridge United have also agreed to sign.
Corby Town can also confirm that striker Steve Diggin has left the club.
Walker will need little introduction to Corby fans and Drury admitted he was glad than he had agreed to extend his stay: “Glenn is a proven player at this level and I am pleased that he chose to stay. He is settled in the area and it's a great boost for everyone that another player from last season has committed to stay, despite interest from elsewhere.”
Ives, a former trainee with Cambridge City, arrives from the city's other side - United - and made his senior debut for the Us whilst still a first year trainee in January 2009.
Last season was his first as a pro and he appeared 15 times for Cambridge, as well as having a short spell with Bury Town.
“Sam is a box-to-box midfielder and a young lad who comes here with the experience of playing in the Conference Premier. I've spoken before about my desire to bring in youngsters that we can develop but to be able to do that with someone who has shown a willingness to drop down a level is a positive sign for us.
“He is a player with plenty of promise and we have to bring him on. I'm trying to get the right mix and he is someone who fits the bill.”
Herbert joined Northampton Town in September 2009 having stepped up from Long Buckby following a successful trial period. He went on to make over 30 appearances for the Cobblers in a two-year stay at Sixfields and that also included a loan spell with Cambridge at the end of last season.
“Courtney was played out of position at Northampton on the right and it's proved a good education for him but he comes here as a striker. That is where his strengths lie, he has blistering pace and is another like Jordan Spruce who is raw but there is something there to work with.
“He needs to find his feet and have a run of games to show what he can do and I've challenged him to force his way into the starting line-up.
“Like Sam, he is a young lad with some experience under his belt that belies his age. He finished last season on loan at Cambridge so has played in League 2 and the Conference but during the campaign he also played at places like Reading and Anfield for Northampton during their cup run so he's done quite a bit for someone as young as he is.”
Departing the club is striker Diggin and Drury explained how his departure came about: “Steve has been a good servant to the club and we agreed terms to extend that arrangement earlier in the close season but he told me of interest from another club and explained that he wanted a new challenge.
“I'm not one to stand in a players way if they think they can better themselves, I only want players at the club who are 100% committed so we felt it was in everyone's interest for Steve to move on. We part on good terms and wish him all the best.”
The club would like to place on record their thanks for Steve's contribution during his time with the Steelmen.
