Following the tremendous response from supporters to nominate suggestions for the name of the new stadium, Corby Town Football Club and Corby Borough Council are once again asking for your input to help us make a final decision.
The initial round of name proposals saw a number of very credible ideas put forward, some several times, and as a committee, the Club and Council felt it was only appropriate to put the decision to a public vote, rather than decide amongst themselves, as was the original plan.
The four most popular suggestions that were put forward were:
The Stadium of Steel
The Spirit of Corby Stadium
Steel Park
The Furnace
Having shortlisted these four nominations, we now would like you to help us decide. Voting is now open, and will remain open for one week until 5pm on Friday 22nd July.
The winning choice will then be announced shortly before the first ever match at the new stadium on Monday 25th July. The Steelmen take on npower League 1 outfit Notts County in a 7.45pm kick-off and tickets are now on sale, priced £7 for adults, £3 for concessions and £1 for under-16s.
Three lucky supporters, who vote for the winning stadium name will be picked out of a hat at the same time as the stadium name is announced, and they will win two tickets to either the Stevenage or Luton Town friendlies.
In addition to this, the name of one supporter, from the list who proposed the original suggestion, will also be picked at random and they will win four tickets for a VIP day out at the Rangers match.
To vote, please visit the Corby Borough Council website - http://tinyurl.com/stadiumvote and have your say now.
