It was honours even at the Glass World Stadium in the FA Cup with Budweiser third qualifying round as Histon and Corby Town played out a 1-1 draw.
A scrappy first half saw few chances for either side.
Avelino Vieira forced a good save from Joe Mellings in the second minute while at the other end Jay Dowie and Jim Stevenson had shots blocked and Claudiu Hoban had a well taken free-kick saved by Paul Walker.
But it took just two minutes of the second half for the visitors to break the deadlock, Paul Malone heading home from a corner.
Histon hit back five minutes later when a corner of their own was not cleared and Jordan Ivey-Ward was on hand to smash the ball home.
Zak Mills fired wide soon after as Histon pressed for a winner and Vieira went close to snatching a winner in the dying minutes when he blasted over from close range.
The two sides will now meet in the replay at Steel Park on Wednesday evening.
