Defender Andy Holt has departed Corby Town, having had his contract terminated by mutual consent.
Holt, who joined the Steelmen earlier in the summer following his release from Northampton Town, has taken the decision following a recurrence of an injury during pre-season.
Corby Town manager Ian Sampson, who also managed Holt at Sixfields, told www.corbytownfc.co.uk;
“Losing Andy is extremely disappointing. His contract was terminated at his own suggestion. It’s a measure of the man that Andy is and he has admitted that his current injury is just too much for him to train on at the moment and he’s not sure about the length of his absence.
“He has been so up front and honest about it, showing some great professionalism. It is a blow, because he’s experienced in the league and has shown at Northampton what he could have done here. But he’s shown great integrity in admitting he can’t go on and Ihave huge respect for him.”
Everybody at Corby Town Football Club would like to thank Andy for his efforts during his short spell at Steel Park and wish him a full and speedy recovery.
