Corby Town will travel to the Cambridgeshire on Saturday 6th October to face Blue Square Bet North rivals Histon in the third qualifying round of the FA Cup with Budweiser.
The Stutes, who were knocked out of the competition by Corby last season, progressed past Eastwood Town on Saturday with a 5-3 away victory.
Histon, who are managed by Dennis Greene, currently sit 18th in the Blue Square Bet North following a turbulent summer at the Glass World Stadium.
The sides last met in February, when the visitors secured a 2-0 victory at Steel Park. The reverse league fixture was a 1-1 draw, with Delroy Gordon scoring for the Steelmen.
The two clubs also met in the FA Cup second qualifying round last season. They played out a 1-1 draw at the Glass World stadium, before Corby Town won the replay 3-1. Paul Malone and Matt Rhead scored in extra time to seal Corby’s passage to the next round.
Histon have a great cup pedigree, and in 2008/09 they reached the third round for the first time in their history. The Stutes beat Swindon Town 1–0 at home in the first round, before causing a huge upset against Leeds United live on ITV. Histon won the match 1–0 at home in the second round, inflicting the Yorkshire sides first defeat at the hands of a non-league side. They eventually bowed out in the third round, when they were narrowly beaten by Swansea City at the Glass World stadium.
