STEELMEN FACE FA TROPHY TRIP

Corby Town will travel to Ryman Premier League club Wealdstone in the 3rd Qualifying round of The FA Trophy on Saturday 10th November.

The Stones, who made it to the semi-final of last season’s competition, were 6-2 victors in their 2nd Qualifying round tie on Saturday against Merstham.

Following an own goal on five minutes, Peter Dean made it 2-0 just a minute later, with further goals from Richard Jolly and Dean making it 4-0 after barely 20 minutes.

Merstham, to their credit, battled back and goals from Mark Nwokeji and Fabio Saraiva reduced the arrears but Alex Dyer and Tom Pett scored to make it 6-2 to the visitors.

The Steelmen have lost on each of their last four visits to Wealdstone, the last of those a 2-1 defeat in April 2007.
