The 2005/06 promotion winning Corby Town side are returning to The Rockingham Triangle stadium on Sunday 21st October to take part in a charity match and fun day, organised by Corby Town fan Alan Wortley.
The day is in aid of Ali Corea. Ali sadly broke his back in four places broke his pelvis, whilst suffering severe head injuries in a horrific motorbike accident. The money raised will be for his parents to visit him in hospital in Coventry and also for any future care that he may need.
Former Corby Town boss Rob Dunion has arranged for his Corby Town team from 2006 to play against a team from three care homes associated with Ali, who will also include former Nottingham Forest player Lee Glover plus former Arsenal and Wolves star Jon Purdie. The organisers are also hoping to attract a few more star players ahead of the match. The care homes team will be managed by former Steelmen boss Graham Drury, who is currently managing Stamford.
The Corby Town 2005/06 side is set to feature former favourites such as Darren Watts, Bobby White, Stewart Marshall, Zak “Dingle” Nedimovic, Brett Derby, Chris Goodman and Kevin Byrne.
The Corby Radio roadshow bus will be in attendance along with fun activities and live music from local bands including the Cormitments. A charity raffle will also be held and the Steelmen Social Club will be open and screening the live Barclays Premier League matches between Sunderland and Newcastle at 1.30pm and QPR and Everton at 4pm.
Tickets are £4 for adults and £2 for children. Children under 2 are free, so please come and support this wonderful cause.
