Corby Town have signed Jake Walton from Stamford and the defender goes straight into the Steelmen's squad for Tuesday night's Hillier Cup game.
19-year-old Walton can play in defence and midfield and has represented England and Britain at College level.
Manager Graham Drury explained: "Jake is primarily a full back but he can also play in midfield and is someone I'm keen to have a closer look at. He has done well for Stamford and I am keen to give him an opportunity to see what he can do for us.
"He'll be involved in the squad against Peterborough and we'll have a good look at him in training and see where we go from there."
The club can also confirm that defender Tom Land has left Steel Park by mutual consent.
Drury explained: "Tom came to see me and explained he was at a stage where he felt he needed regular first-team football and I agree with him.
"Unfortunately I didn't feel it was an opportunity I was going to be able to provide him with here, at this moment in time, and we discussed another loan spell however he felt he needed to be at another club on a permanent basis to progress his career.
"I'm sorry to see him go because he is a good lad to have around the place but I know where he is coming from and we won't ever stand in the way of a player who wants to progress. He leaves with our best wishes and I'd like to thank him for what he has done in his time with Corby."
